Is it only me ,or is Fnb about to lose ALOT of customers.

Got a sms this morning to say that my fees is going up by 10 rand(no problem with that)
And my unlimited atm withdrawals will be restricted to 6 FREE monthly withdrawals.

As a new customer to Fnb (2 months now) ,I must say that I am very disapointed.Just glad I have not closed my previous account yet.Especially as that was the reason I went over to them coupled with unlimited swipes.

Would like to hear what other fnb customers think.

Doesn't affect me as I barely withdraw cash anyway, and swipes are still unlimited. I'm upset about the changes made to eBucks and SLOW lounge access though. I wouldn't mind paying the few extra bucks if nothing changed, but we're actually getting less than we used to.

Well - they locked a lot of customers in - so time to rake in the money :p

I constantly withdraw money (the amounts I need) as I hate having large amounts of cash on me or at home. Honestly, FNB may be a great bank for some, but it no longer fits my requirements. I don't need free ADSL bandwidth or contract offers on cellphones and tablets (I get this all for free from my work). What I need from a bank is great customer service, unlimited ATM withdrawals from their own ATMs, low-medium fees for withdrawals from other ATMs (FNB is ridiculous currently, like R30 or something per withdrawal), and a premiere banker who actually responds to my requests. Furthermore, their turn around times are shocking.

FNB has lost the plot as a bank, but is a great technology innovator. Unfortunately, what I need is a BANK and not a spaza shop that sells everything from airtime to mealie meal...

What exactly changed with ebucks ?

I hear from so many people that they moved to FNB from ABSA, so their customer base must have grown substantially I reckon, and then they start giving less value for money ?

I'm honestly not going to move to another bank at a whim, but if this is going to become a trend it's gonna become a problem for me.

Pretty much what is going to slowly become the standard I think. It irritates me a little but not very much - I think FNB is probably ahead of the game on this one again. Everything is moving to a cashless way of working. The US is pushing this heavily as well so I can't imagine why SA wouldn't.

For a R10 increase it seems like we actually get less (Since i joined this is actually the second increase on fees)

Quite peeved to see the value proposition I signed up for is being diminished. Its not a major issue for me that you only allowed 6 free withdrawals, but its the idea that I now need to keep track of this or get burnt with a charge. Whereas previously I didn't have to give a care about using the ATM.

I don't know about changes to ebucks and the SLOW lounge (never used it either - i like the Keg at the airport).

All the guys who took out the tablets and smartphones are now locked in. For the rest - we can move - however there is nothing from the competitors that still compares or is better in my opinion.

Even though your "swipes" are free, FNB earns great merchant fees on them everytime. On the other hand, it takes a lot more for ATM withdrawals to be profitable. They're basically forcing more of us to swipe rather than using cash.

Swak.

u can withdraw at the till as well ... I think that is what they I trying to push people towards, with the reduction in free atm withdrawals .... this way, everyone scores .... as the shops don't have to lug cash to the banks and banks don't have to process the cash, while the customers get the money at fairly convenient locations

Your swipes must be more than your ATM withdrawals in order to earn eBucks, or something to that effect.

Ah that won't be an issue for me, I swipe pretty much everywhere but restaurants and bars.

I feared it might have something to do with how many R's an ebuck turns out to be worth, or how much you earn.

Well I only swipe. No change there and If I want cash, I got to the spar that is next to my local ATM, swipe at the till and get cash in return. Play the system.

Just read the pricing PDF...Even though it doesn't effect me. I'm still feeling a bit cheated.
