Hi, does anyone know if Frogfoot GPON is full duplex? @PBCool do you know?
I hope I am using the right terminology. If I am not pIease forgive me.

I know its symmetrical. But when I max the download the upload is also affected. i.e. the bandwidth seems shares on the Fibre.

It's 2.5/1.25Gbps, but that's not what you're asking, you're asking whether the connection you're getting from your ISP is.

This is running at the same time on a 100/100Mbps Atomic Access + Frogfoot line:

Note I removed my IP. Left side is upload, right side is download.

The speeds advertised are what you get, if you order a 100/100 line, you'll get both at the same time, 100/20 etc. is the same.

Thanks for this @Johnatan56

Edit: I have not been able to achieve this. My upload falls as my download increases and maxes.
Where are you? What pop are you connected to?

100/10 = asynchronous
200/100 = asynchronous

100/100 = synchronous
20/20 = synchronous

All network traffic (between the OLT and ONT) takes place at GPON line speed.

No matter what ISP package you chose, your data comes to your ONT at 2.4-something Gbps and goes back to the OLT at 1.25-something Gbps.

Where does the reduction "throttling" take place for the ISP to govern the line speed? @ the OLT @ the pop or at the ENNI, i.e. Frogfoot gear @ for example Teraco? I'm assuming it must be as the ISP logs into Frogfoot portal to set line speed on their portal. Is this correct?

On Openserve I can max upload and download the same time to roughly get 300Mbps total. Obviously total traffic minus tcp overhead so it's about 190Mbps download and 90Mbps upload. And works fine.

One more thing that Huawei is doing right is even if the traffic increases latency does not suffer. The equipment manages that very good.

You can run a torrent close to line speed up and down and still play games without latency issues.

Symmetric/asymmetric actually

Have not been able to max upload and download at the same time until this morning.
Now I can 85 up and 98 down at the same time.

@Frogfoot Fibre whatever config you have changed on my ONT or port setup I am eternally grateful.

Damn I'm happy now. Yeah baby this is what Fibre internet is all about rocking the full duplex symmetric.

Ohh I was wondering what happened with you being on atomic

So the way Frogfoot do the business Fibre they break out physically separate ENNI @ Teraco for business clients.
(Their FTTH circuits are physically separate from FTTB at Teraco handoff to the ISP and then VLAN separate to the node.) They share the same physical back-haul from the node to Teraco.

Atomic is not partaking in the Frogfoot business offering at the moment, Octotel yes, Frogfoot no.

We needed SLA on this line and Cool Ideas is the most active with this product. i.e. They actively offer it on their pricing. Half the ISP's we contacted did not even really know anything about it. They are mostly DFA or nothing.

Openserve 200/100 on torrents now. Upload/download speed not limited. Absolutely maxing this poor line :)

That's good.
