I can access international sites but it seems extremely slow. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Yip - same here.

International has been crawling along most of today on my IS ADSL.

same story as ever near month-end then with IS. When will they get this sorted???

Good questions. I'm an Openweb subscriber and I created this thread on their forums today: A few concerns regarding OpenWeb/IS

My problem is that I'm experiencing these kind of problems throughout the month but obviously it's the worst at month end.

have international sites ever been fast this month during the day on IS???

And local also seems a whole lot slower than usual

Nope, from my own personal experience this has been an especially horrible month if you were making use of an IS account.

I have two accounts one through MWeb (which I'm pretty sure is through IS) and DataPro (which is probably ultimately UUNet - but I'm not sure).

Regardless - my ADSL has been so erratic in terms of availability and so slow generally to both local and international sites that I'm beginning to question what I'm paying for at all. In fact - it's a wonder I've been able to access this site to post this bitching note.

This whole ADSL thing is seriously impacting on anyone's ability to conduct business in an online environment. It's been what - four years since they introduced their useless "broadband" which would not even be classified as such by anyone even in India - forget "first" world standards.

We don't have PayPal - what appears to be the deo facto international "bank" for lack of a better description. We don't have anything which even comes close to a decent "broadband" connection provider.

Broadband in S.A. is a hoax, anyone dispute that with a valid fact, please do.

Next month is the last month I'll be using IS. I gave them enough time to sort out their **** - whether it is their fault or not.

Download speed are good, but international browsing has always been up to **** (I moved over from SAIX about 5-6 months back)

The first question I have, for the people with slow IS speeds, is "Are you soft-capped?"

I know this might seem obvious, but it is very easy to go past 3GB and not notice.

Then again, it is cloudy today...

Nope its def slow. Soft capped account doesn't even open an int site. "Not yet capped" account is very slow and timesout. But then again, whats new?

OK. My IS account lasts about 24 hours before being soft-capped, so I never use it for international.

Anyway, the sun is out again, so international may improve.
