I have setup a couple of proxy's and gateway's and found a way to make hostnames static......so....is it illegal to host sites from these servers ie.www, ftp, smtp, pop, ssh, vpn...etc????

I doubt if it is, but Telkom ADSL is simply too unreliable to host anything of commercial value.

Trust me - I've tried to give a client FTP access from outside. It was a disaster. I'm now mirroring the data on an external server. Is much more expensive, but at least I don't have a red face anymore.

I don't know if it is ADSL or the way Telkom operates ADSL, but I will not use ADSL for server connectivity except for fooling around.

It will work Murphy style: When testing it is perfect, but at the critical moment, it will fail :-(
