Hi guys,

I recorded a video (really bad quality) of the tour guy at robben island showing and talking to us some things.

I been hearing things like you need to get permission to upload things of people, but I hear if its your own work then its not a problem.

So, would it be illegal if i published the video on my site, or will I have to get permission first before uploading it?

Thanks

A production company was shooting "Laugh out loud" for mnet at a building I was at. Anybody caught on camera was asked to sign a release form. No I did not look at the release form :-)

If a picture or video is taken in a public place - no.
If you are in a private place or presumably paid for it then probably yes.

Read this (although I think it's for the US): http://www.krages.com/ThePhotographersRight.pdf

I paid money to go to the place, does this mean I cant even publish the photo's I took of the place even though there is no people in them?

Interesting subject. Trying to work out what it has to do with Software and Web DEVELOPMENT :)

Try asking in the General Discussion - Photography forum. They may know more about the legality of publishing videos
