Is it just me or is this circus getting silly

Just imagine how laborious it must be for electric car drivers to plan a longer trip, first you have to hunt for a charging station then make sure it won’t be load shedding when they arrive there. What a pita, even just keeping it charged at home must be painful with all the loadshedding at the moment.

EV isnt ready for Prime time in SA, its more a curiosity like PC's/Internet were initially in SA.

Tesla seems to be interested in getting their cars launched here, as I saw a LinkedIn job posting for a Tesla service advisor in Kokstad..

Depends very much on your use. You can charge at 8KW single phase or 11KW 3 phase (with proper charge equipment), so in an hour you can charge about 50-90km worth of usage. If you charge every night, it doesn't take long.

Hydrogen fuel cells actually work but they're crap with everything you would want to use a car for.

Scrap electric. Toyota is gonna bring back the hydrogen combustion engine.

I'll call mine the Hiluxburg.
