My wife and I recently traded our iPhones in for the latest iPhones at the *store (not mentioning any names) and renewed our cell contracts at the same time.
What surprised me and what I was not happy with was that we had to have our fingerprints taken and supply our ID cards during this process. ID, I do not have an issue with, however, the issue is why do I have to submit to a fingerprint scan.
My question is:
Is this practice in line with the POPI act or is this a case of overkill? Is it the collection of to much personal information for the supply of a product?
