Basicly doing this to any destination I tracert to. x_x
Maybe the Wireshark logs will reveal something, crossing fingers :P

Okay,

That is DEFINITELY a firewall :/ You don't have peerblock installed do you?

Nope no firewall software installed. :|

When looking at my "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" window, think you open it through Advance Settings when at Firewall window from control panel, then I can see under the overview the following:

Domain Profile
Windows Firewall is on.
Inbound connections that do not match a rule are blocked.
Outbound connections that do not match a rule are allowed.

Private Profile
Windows Firewall is off.

Public Profile is Active
Windows Firewall is off.

Don't know if it might be any of these settings O_o
I'll have to go buy a "Firewalls For Dummies" book soon it seems. @_@

Switch the firewall off and try again.

Otherwise install a ping tool on your phone and test. If you get the same result then the issue is on your router. If not then it's isolated to that specific machine...

Good plan!

Reminded me of the scene in Limitless where he says to the other dude "you're getting smarter" ...

Ok, tested from phone(Set application to use ICMP) and brother's laptop(Truned off all firewalls before doing the test), both do the same, all hops go */Timeout untill 1-13th one.
So the fault must be on the Router?

I'll have to go do some reading to better understand how the tracing works.
Thanks for help so far everyone, I'll go do some googling on what on the router might be causing the timeouts. :)

Does your router have a firewall setting? or QoS enabled? Switch them all off. Test again. If the problem remains, reset the router to factory defaults and test. If the problem persists after a reset, then your router has in all likelihood started packing up.

Also remember to plug the machine directly in to the router with a LAN cable. Although it seems they're talking to each other just fine based on the first hop, one of the first things to do is rule out a wireless issue on the router. But it's unlikely to be this.

What's odd is that it's not even talking to the exchange but you're managing to resolve IPs fine so there is some sort of connection happening. Something is interfering with it though. Could definitely be QoS or router firewall issues. Probably not an IP address conflict on the network as it happens on all connected devices.

So seems to be some sort of problem on the router, for sure. You really need to be able to test with another router, but it migh just be best to reset it to factory defaults. If the problem still exists then you can rule out a configuration issue (as long as all new configs are correct) and you can diagnose with fair confidence it being a router hardware or firmware fault. Try upgrading firmware, reset again, try again. Then last resort, get a new router to try...

Yea, whats your router model?

Under it's firewall tab there is nothing turned on, and the WAM Settings for the DSL doesn't have the "Enable SPI Firewall" checked.

I'm searching around for the QoS, so far found, under WAM Settings the "ATM Configuration" has a "ATM QoS Type:UBR", trying to see if there is any place I can change this, atm I can't find it. :|

Re- Z: Router is a TP-Link Model No. TD-8840T, its about a few months old so I'm unsure if it can already be packing up, hope not :(

I'm directly connected to the Router through a Switch. I'm going to go reset to default settings and setup the ISP account again and see if it gets fixed. Hope I don't break anything. :P

Thats the best option for now :)

Remove the switch from the equation. Go plug directly into the router before doing anything else...

Ok, did a reset and it's the same. x_x

Before the reset I plugged the cable directly into the PC, but didn't change any test outcomes.

I'm starting to wonder if it might be a problem at the exchange? My latency is even worse than it was earlier.

I'll try some tests tomorrow, at worse I'll just do a Windows Re-install(Probably won't fix the problem but will let me feel better) :P

Thanks for the help all, I'll report back with any new findings! :)

Go ask your neighbours if their internet is working, test with a new router as well. Check your telephone line for noise.

What are your router stats?

You may not be a customer of ours, but I have some technical support trainees who I can let loose on your troubleshooting if you like. Send an email to [email protected] and I'll have one of them try to resolve the issue for you tomorrow if you like? Will be good training grounds for them (my support manager will oversee it) and free in-depth troubleshooting over and above the fob-me-off attitude you'll typically find from Telkom and most script-reading ISP support staff...

I'm the only one in our Complex who has Internet so far, atm.
I've not seen the Telkom guys back here since they connected my line. DSL service was only added to the complex at around early Feb this year. :(

Router stats seems good:
Current Rate (Kbps) 512 4096
Max Rate (Kbps) 968 13024
SNR Margin (dB) 14 36
Line Attenuation (dB) 5 6
Errors (Pkts) 0 0

Telephone seems normal, very slight shhhhhhh in background but hardly noticeable.

Line stats look fine but we'll be able to run some better diagnostics if you connect with one of our accounts. Shoot that email off and someone will get in touch with you tomorrow to fix it or at least diagnose it...

I've had a ticket open at Telkom since Wednesday(21-05-2014), so I can just as well let someone else also take a look at it :D

Any specific details which I should include in the e-mail? I'll probably only be able to change router settings later that day, I'm a slave to the code until after hours. :|
But I'll drop an e-mail and get in contact and see how it goes tomorrow :)
Thanks for the help so far.
I know more now about Routing than I knew about it yesterday. :D

Just link to this thread and I'll take care of it in my end for you. Leave your phone number and if there's a way for you to remote into it tomorrow even better. Can schedule for during a lunch break if need be...

I'm trying to see if I can connect to the router via the Internet, but it's a bit of a grey area for me, can't seem to find any resources relating my router.

I don't think I'll be able to change anything on it before 16:40-17:00 that's about the earliest I can get back home. Bit far from work to drive in on lunch time.

I think I'll quickly give Telkom a call tomorrow during lunch and if they don't help I'll email through at lunch time and setup the router for Tuesday morning for the tech guys from your side to run some diagnostics? :)
