is it necessary to set up the new modem?

I suppose the buy the Linksys WAG354G, i would like to know is it necessary to set up the setting in the windowXP? Is it got enough instruction on the menu to instruct the new user for this? How can I link the ADSL account to this modem?

The router has it's own adsl modem which needs to be configured. The configuration utility is accessed by typing the IP address (usually 192.168.1.1) in the address bar of your web browser. The linksys manual and online help is pretty detailed as to what to configure. The first tab (basic config) will configure your ISP and ADSL settings.

Ensure that your connection settings for the web browser are set to LAN and not for dial up.
