Bought some cheap generic PS3 controllers from Takealot. I watched some videos on Youtube and managed to connect it to my PC but it only works with the USB.

Is there any quick way I can get it to work wirelessly?

*Generic controller.

Nope

I did get to use one on Android phone a while back but that was as far as I got.

True, I bought the controllers thinking I could also use them for the PS3. We have one that nobody uses. I only put it on once or twice a year when my extended family members come over.

My PC is a gaming PC so even though I don't game, I may as well just return these and buy PC controllers.

The Astrum I linked work with PS3 PS2 and PC I have all 3 and I just move it where I need it.

Did you have to get a dongle or do you just use it wirelessly with PC?

You use the dongle, it comes with the controller. If I wanna use it on PC/PS3 I just plug in the USB side, on the PS2 it uses the PS2 connector. Converts signal to 2.4 and range is ok (Play about 2 meters away from devices.)
