is it possible to share internet with MyWireless?

I'm getting MyWireless package hopefully this weekend.
I searched this forum on internet sharing and found that it's possible with linux based solution

I have two PC's connected to a hub, what can you suggest?

hey, i have the 128K package shared on 3 pc's, works well... you can't however purchase a second modem... i would recommend connecting the modem to the main PC that'll act as a server, then setup a firewall and all on it... then use internet connection sharing on the other pc's, or you could setup the server as a proxy server and connect through that with the other pc's, that would probably be a better option, since you'll be using linux...

you don't NEED to load linux, i'm running windows xp on my server with the modem connected, this is better for me because i like using internet connection sharing, much easier... but u could have linux on the server then set it up as a proxy and connect with another pc on the network running windows... for your situation windows would probably be better, just make sure to have your antivirus software up to date and have a firewall running, i use Sygate personal firewall cos it has built in settings for internet connection sharing, so u just install it on the server and bob's your uncle...
 
you could set up a proxy server for browsing,mail and ftp , try FreeProxy it runs on Windoze, then firewall the machine with the connection and then u don't have to use crappy ICS.[:D]

Personally I run a linux box to do this BUT - I've installed 2 clients with a VERY nice little setup...

1 x MyWireless modem
1 x MyWireless ethernet cable
1 x Mustek Wireless Router ( about R 500)

The router provides 4 lan points, a wifi access point and a WAN port that the Mywireless modem goes into. It does reasonable firewalling,dns,dhcp and port forwarding etc etc.

I'm quite impressed.

Maybe that's a option...

Actually, you don't need to setup Linux to use a Linux based firewall.

I installed IPCop (www.ipcop.org) as a dialup router, and it was merely a case of answering a number of well formulated questions to get a basic system going. You don't need to know anything about Linux. Configuring is mostly done by http://ipnumber_of_ipcop_machine:81 on a web interface.


Don't let the "Linux scare" put you off from trying to setup your own firewall/router.

Get the basics going, join the support mailing list and soon you will start to tweak your Firewall/Router like a pro!

Thanks a lot ppl!

looks like I have many options to try out!
I'm currently running windows XP and it's a hassel to maintain a linux server to share internet connections at home.

BTW i'm still waiting for Berco to call me.
Sentech told me they will SMS me on Monday or Tuesday...
And it's almost Wednesday now.

Anyways I'll give it a try when I receive the pacakge.
