Is it worth disabling Control Center access from the lock screen for better security?

I saw a post saying the following:
Prevent thieves from putting your phone in Airplane mode - Disable Control Center access from the lock screen on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode) and toggle off "Control Center" under "Allow Access When Locked"

It's inconvenient to not have access to Control centre with a locked phone(I have an SE 2022 so no face ID to auto unlock) and in any case how effective is disabling control center access from the lock screen when the thief can still just power the iPhone off using the power button to achieve the same thing?

Okay so what would you like here, Keep airplane off so you can track the thieves and retrieve your phone? Sounds smart and not dangerous at all. I would rather walk to the nearest Istore, max out my credit card and call it a day.

Often the phone will be nearby if you notice soon enough, perhaps a staff member at a restaurant or similar nicked it and you can phone the device and perhaps locate it.

If you turn your phone off normally, Find My will still work.

Perhaps, if you put it in Airplane mode first, this behaviour changes?

It's not really the money it's more the huge pita setting a new phone up. iCloud backups can do a fair amount of the legwork but there's still a lot work like logging in and linking devices and anything not saved in the cloud, if I can nab the perp on the spot that'll be first prize every time no matter what.

So why are you avoiding the question, you and @epah sitting in a tree...

I tried it now.

If you turn on airplane mode and turn off the phone, everything works as it should and Find My is still active.

If you swipe down and turn Bluetooth off from the shade, it still works normally (since this turns BT off temporarily).

But if you go to Settings and turn off Bluetooth there, then the 'Find My' option falls away:

Interesting, maybe it is that Bluetooth toggle that is important to protect, I can switch off bluetooth on my phone even when locked when Control Center access on lock screen is allowed.

Some logins will but many won't especially banking and anything that needs to be secure.
