I have a 10mb line,

Here are my DSL stats:

Operational Mode: ADSL2+
Upstream: 640 kbps
Downstream: 6144 kbps
SNR Margin (Upstream): 12.0 db
SNR Margin (Downstream: 10.5 db
Line Attenuation (Upstream): 25.0 db
Line Attenuation (Downstream): 46.5 db

As you can see, it syncs at EXACTLY 6 megabits a second.

Looking at my SNR and Attenuation values, do you think i can bump the sync speed to 8 maybe 10, and still have a stable connection?

Depends whether your line is subject to quality changes with weather etc. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose, if it's not stable drop down again.

Try stay clear of 6dB SNR. I'd say keep above 8 so that when it drops in storms it has some overhead.

Also ask Telkom to up your upload speed to 1mbps and tell them you know they can do it and you don't care about their set profiles (usually they only allow 1mbps up with 10mbps down, but, really, you can have 1mbps up on anything if you support it).
