Why not just a few Helium-3 catching "nets" in and/or near Earth orbit, surely cheaper.

With the prevalence of sex tapes, bumfies, nudes and the like, I feel as if the moon has lost the impact and importance it once enjoyed. No one takes it as serious anymore and I'm of the view that it mostly goes unnoticed when on display. Age, shape and size plays an important role but I maintain the view that returning to the moon is not worth it.

Do you have any idea how much it costs to send a kg of matter into orbit? That would bankrupt NASA right there.

Artemis is only the start, to test the tech so to speak.

Long term we will probably establish a permanent base and coupled with that we will see something like SpaceX's Starship that can travel routinely between the earth and the moon.

Remember, travel to the new world start with 3 wooden ships and culminated with Concorde over several hundred years. These things unfortunately take time.
 
Whew...difficult question but perhaps astrophysicists with dreams of a manned vessel on the orbit of Mars can answer that question.

Lol. The Conspiracy Theorist that for some reason was recommended to my by YouTube and that I watch was very logical, using NASA interviews, to indicate how they contradict themselves all the time. And it has been more than 50 years since the moon landing. Just think how that moist that guy is going to get with this.

Dont really care whether they landed or not nor do I care if they go to the moon. When humanity leave our solar system, thats when I will become interested.
 
I was going to say that it would shut up the conspiracy theorists (moon landing and flat earth), but then I realised that such stupidity should never be underestimated and they will just make up another load of crap.

Maybe we can bomb them from the moon or something.

Not really, the further out you go the more issues you are going to have to protect the "net" from things like solar radiation and micro meteorites. Then you need to start looking at maintenance robots or how to maintain, service the equipment.

But there are other benefits to going to the moon, like it becoming a way-station for missions to Mars. The advantages of being able to do experiments in low gravity (people underestimate the effect that gravity has on scientific experimentation) and even better/clearer observation of our univers can be done from the moon.
