Is it worth switching

In my experience if you're satisfied with your internet service it's worth an extra R100 pm. I wouldn't touch things until the value proposition became a lot worse.

I have a Vumatel fibre line at my house. I joined Cool Ideas in 2018-08 on a 20/2 MBs packages for R809 per month. In April last year, this was increased to R829 pm. In the last two years, I haven't had any issues at all with Cool Ideas. I pay every month they provide me with reliable service.

This morning I received an email and it seems like there are MANY other ISP that I have never even heard of offering the same package for R100 less a month, so R1,2k every year.

Is it worth switching over for a R100 pm with the potential of regretting it later on.....
The process is not simple. There are many things that can go wrong. Chasing price is hardly ever a good idea.

Nope.. of all the other ISP's the only other one I would consider switching to is websquad but, they are not cheaper than CISP..

CISP just works and works well..

Ya that's a really open-ended statement.
Just like with everything there are some clients that are clearly handled differently to others.

My experience with CISP was great for a few years. Recently though been treated like just another turd.

I'm sure I pay less than R800 for a 20/20 on Mind The Speed, never had issues with them. Was on CISP a while ago but moved due to the price, think I moved to save R50 or something

This I definitely agree with.

I was stupid.

I liked the idea of paying Rain 480pm for uncapped vs 10mb Afrihost fibre for R617.

I use the internet for browsing and occasional Netflix. So thought Rain would do the job.

I was kept on the R617pm tariff cos I was with Afrihost for a long time.

I cancelled Afrihost. Tried Rain and it was a terrible experience.

Why is Rain even asking for 479 upfront and their service level is shocking. They continue to aggressively advertise their service but fail to deliver an acceptable experience.

Rain is asking for a lawsuit.

Anyway I signed up with Afrihost again and I'm now paying R657pm.

I would rather pay that then deal with Rain.
