So I wrote a small article about the dangers of allowing linux to run on the PS3 .

I didn't think to much of it but when I checked www.n4g.com this morning it is one of the top 5 articles and my site has been completely bombarded... I received more hits on that one article in one day than my next 3 articles combined over their entire lifespan :D

I must remember that if I want hits I must just write bad PS3 articles ;)

lol. people like bad news. It gives them something to skinner about.

Retro, your obsession with 360 fanboys is disturbing, just go buy a console already, or get off the soap box.

You constantly lambaste guys for not having a PS3 and hating on it, how are you any different, worshipping it and not owning one?

Oh relax and go play some GOW. ;)

? Are you asking how much money they lose on each one sold?

I think it's about $200 but they don't tell anyone really so it's all guesses

On the American and Japanese price it's estimated around $300, but remember that manufacturing cost and doesn't include shipping, marketing etc. The European ones are probably selling closer to full cost.

Macworld staff are idiots ... Sony Cell does not perform the same as a PowerPC G5 even if it is clocked at 3.2Ghz.

They should learn the difference between a workstation class out of order CPU vs a cheap in order CPU for a game console.

some guy posted PowerPC benchmarks last week, and that (I believe, I don't now a G5 from an iMac :$) was the result, it ran like a 1.6Mhz Mac BUT he didn't touch the SPU's by his own admission, so it was just a comparison of the main PS3 core and a Mac.

If you go back about 18 months, John Carmack said something very similar (about each CPU (360 has 3 of those) core being about the same as a 1.6Ghz standard CPU.
