Is it a ploy for the ANC to invite ad hominem attacks in order to avoid the issues? Look, I am quite sure that Manyi and Malema are both full-on racists but we've had enough statements made by these trolls that raise the ire and end up deflecting from the real crap.

Labour Laws - a big stink was raised by Manyi comments regarding Coloureds in the Cape and Indians in Natal. But very little was said about the proposals that jobs may only be offered through a government agency, i.e. no adverts in the papers, on web sites, etc. The upshot being that cadre deplyment can continue into the private sector.

A redeployment? - Come June there may be yet another presidential recall. I understand that there are 3 king makers involved all of whom were promised things. I understand the communists were promised National Health, the ANCYL jobs, and the unions 2M more members. Doesn't look like much in the way of delivery there either.

Of course a lunch with the 'connected' people can lead to indigestion. Hopefully the Bloemfontein convention is held in a building erected by Malema and cronies. And it rains.

Even the ANC can't be so stupid as to appoint a government spokesman with the intention of using him to deflect from the issues. Think a bit man, he'd be the very centre of attention! He was not a very wise, but his appointment is political as can be expected. Mind you the labour law issues are from a time when he wasn't in his current position.

There's an article in the Sunday Times of a few weeks ago on Manyi's appointment & why he won't be fired for those racist comments. You'd do well to read it & take a few pointers on political analysis cause you fail miserably in this attempt.

I never said that it was stupid to appoint someone to deflect - in fact Malema could be seen as just how successful it can be. Typical bait and switch. The papers are full of noise about people dancing like monkeys, whether there are concentrations of a certain type of people in all the wrong places, toll fees, you name it. Meanwhile, in the background, quietly, the important stuff goes on unnoticed.

I never said that Manyi wrote the labour laws. I am not blaming him. But you've argued that the government would be stupid to appoint him to deflect. I'd counter that it was stupid to appoint him in the first place. There are far more qualified and far less controversial people around. But what if it is the controversy that you want?

I haven't called for him to be fired - although it would be nice - and I think that my political analysis is just fine. But thanks for caring.

LOL - I get your drift. If we had a mature political landscape then it may be possible to analyse it. We don't. We have a bunch of thugs who have subverted democratic processes for their own enrichment. And they are not content with just enough - they want the lot. I am sure they keep Ugly Bob running the show next door because he is the prototype. You can see it - take the land by invading the farms. [HUGE OUTCRY FROM WEST] Okay, what we'll do is offer to buy the farms and kill enough farmers so we get bargains and lets change the laws to encourage them to leave anyway.
