OK I'm now feeling like a total newbie and very frustrated.

Since Sunday I couldn't download 1 single kb from the IS news server.

It keeps giving me the following error:

"Unable to connect to news.is.co.za:119"
"Unable to connect to news.isdsl.net:119"

Do I have a setup problem or do I need to switch to a different ISP?

E-mail works 100% Internet access is also 100%
Telkom says the line is perfect. I even had to buy a new modem as the Marconi I got from Telkom stopped responding like Telkom do.

What oh what can I do??????

LoL, only 450posts to go through, im sure by the time you have read those you will know as little as we do.

Let me save you some time, the servers are f'd, if you connect and can download, lucky you...

depending on the number of connections you have some might give you an error, the others should connect and download.

martmeister, I tried connections between 1 and 32. The most errors I got was went over 4 connections. Stayed at 4 connections during the night and it was running around 20kb/s in total (only one connection connecting at a time though) since just after 9 this morning, nothing! No downloads at all. At this rate I'll never get the latest episode of Eureka downloaded before the end of the month. Pitty torrents don't have all the serieses that is available on the newsgroups. I'm thinking of rather getting SAIX account as even the local webaccess is slow.........

Getting it right now - you probably dont want to hear its coming down from easynews at over 400kb/s so I wont say anything about that :)

BTW - love that show - we need SciFi Channel back in SA!!

Nope, didn't want to hear that........

And I agree. Sci-fi channel are missed but only when Startrek is not showing...........

Well forget I mentioned the 4mbit speeds then.

Apart from Eureka what else would you like to see on a SciFi Channel? SG1/SGA?

Both I would say. Plus Supernatural, X-files and Roswell
