Hi guys....

I would like some information from any subscribers of the 512k IS un blah blah blah account....

The boss has been having krap for the past three days , I seem to be throttled down to 256k insted of 512k, is anyone else experiencing this ?

Thanx

My 512K uncapped ISDSL account has been shocking this week. Slow speeds, international outages, packet loss, etc...

Not on uncapped meself, but my ISDSL 3GB is very slow, times out, breaks, hops, skips and jumps. my SAIX account is fine, so not my line.

I've given up on using my IS account for international purposes during the day, I just use the proxy connection I have with openweb during the day , but I keep hanging on to my IS account, cause boy, I love them news servers

Agreed - i use my SAIX account for browsing, and IS only for news groups. I even use my SAIX account to connect to my IS server, as the peering links now appear to be less congested than the IPC links....

256K? I was getting less than 20k download, I only had my bro-inlaw's IS uncapped while he was moving premises(3 weeks) and IS gave me only bad service!

yea well my IS line just fell over.......cape town 512k Business [ bull****] line

Do you also enjoy self-flagellation ???.

Nope, just gloating at the fact that me be happy with SAIX account, thanks very muchness...
But I think this is the model of the kind of "competition" we can expect in the braodband market in SA. That's why I'm not pinning any hopes on "competition" in the market giving the consumer a "value-for-money" braodband offering.
IS is the only alternative to the SAIX/Telscum offering that seems to be worth anything, their accounts cost the same (only bonus is the 27 GB local on a normal 30 GB account, which for some might be good enough, but I think for most not), however their uptime clearly suck marshmallows. How many nore threads like this, and those in the past, have to be posted before it starts to sink in? Sadly I think that SAIX accounts are more reliable than IS accounts...

International seems still pretty up-and-down. My theory is that there is an extra bolt that got left in the satellite's generator!

I have also noticed this on my uncapped business ADSL with IS - I thought it was just having a brain-fart for a few hours, but low-and-behold, the max downstream is 256 and no more...for the last 2 days...

...I really want to hear the wonderful explanation for this one! :(
