IS & Saix news servers

ill try but it comes up like once a week.. and it lasts like 3 seconds..
 
I have it on good authority that this is a load of TOSH!!!

IS doesn't and isn't monitoring but SAIX is. The people posting the initial claims have some hidden agenda!!
 
It's all false, we all know that RISA or BSA would have to subpoena IS's records with regard to the news server, ip logs and content downloads before anything can happen. IS isn't just going to hand over crucial client information without a fight, and they sure aren't going to do so by freedom of choice. Even if they were to do so, they would then have to subpoena Telkom and get the client's personal and residential details from the ip/line port on log. This is just some attempt to free the news server's load so that it can stabalise again.

They wouldn't have to do anything if IS and/or SAIX and/or Telcom simply agreed to co-operate and release the info.

Check your contracts - I'd be surprised if there wasn't a provision in there that would entitle the provider to do so.

Oh and zamrg, who are you to say this hasn't happened already. You seem to put it as it being impossible for the risa to do anything.
 
If you register as a subscriber, IS does not make your personally-identifiable information available to any party, unless required by law to do so.

From the IS privacy policy, in what would apply to those utilising their ISP services. So what kind of legal action not publicly known could have made them RISA's lapdogs? None I would think, unless there is some whole new "anonymous John Doe" internet-only type Anton Piller order. Certainly not the alleged "agreement".

If it is RISA it is about music only - MP3s one supposes - and it is legit to download MP3s for personal and private use under our law.

So this is all a load of cr@p. SAIX might be doing anything though - loose cannons.
 
Personally i dont think this is going to work. RiSA as they like to be called only protects the music business, not tv serires, games, applications and other movies

What about companies using news servers for there company perpouses?? Have they thought about that.

Just to play it save ill wait for more feedback before jumping the gun. To me both SAIX and IS are pathetic in service delivering and pricing. So if they want to awakening a sleeping beast even more ("us the public" who they are suppose to give good service to) go ahead.

But this again shows "Publishing" of material, not downloading, big difference
 
And this is just a plain stock letter used by many Companies. Does not prove anything.

Unlike torrents I dont think that the studios are able to trace news server downloads.

I also just received 2 emails like that, one from IS and one from Datapro...

No way hosay, no more news servers for me... eish
