Hey everyone

I hope this is the correct thread to post this problem in.

Since Friday I've been having a lot of problems sending emails, with the error below coming up within a few seconds of clicking "Send and Receive"

An unknown error has occurred. , Server: 'smtp.isdsl.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

I Googled the error number but it doesn't really tell me anything.

Sometimes this problem goes away by itself after a few minutes, other times I have to reset my router to get it to go through.

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

Read on.... after the Secure (SSL) and number crap, does it say anything about not being able to connect because access was denied?

Post the full error message not just that part and I'll see what may be the cause. Usually when Outlook bitches about SSL its because the IP address have been banned from the server. Just read the entire message ;)

Hi Acid - below is the complete message.

Thanks.

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: Gunsie', Account: 'Business Webmail', Server: 'smtp.isdsl.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

Nothing about access denied or invalid user name /password....

Using Outlook Express, if that makes a difference.

Who hosts your incoming mail? Why don't you use their server to send mail?

Incoming mail is on Webmail.co.za. They don't have a SMTP server.....

(Please, I know Webmail is not the best option out there, but that is not relevant to the question here)

Outlook express? Aai

My money is on that you have too many emails in your dbx files, try using outlook ;)
