IS Speed / DNS Issues in Cape Town

Anyone on IS in Cape Town experiencing degraded speed and DNS issues with IS?

Am capped internationally, but local should still be 100%. See tracert below:

Much better now. Perhaps one of you network guru's could explain why my first hop (doesn't matter what server) always times out on this IS account? Didn't used to happen on my SAIX account.

The device might be set to not respond to ICMP requests.
 
There is definitely some strange dns and ip caching issues on the IS network.

No word from IS yet regaring this, but I can definitely see(just had a client phoning in and we did some tests) that IS is "playing" around with some stuff.
 
status quo bias - u may need to accept change

ahh, so now we need to accept being ripped off for *standard* service levels from telkom... thats a rather weak rationalisation by your status quo bias.

I'll gladly waive perfect service from IS while they continue to *improve* their service rather than the corollary of telkom who *downgrade* their service and increase their *price* at the same time.
