Is Takealot open?

Well I placed the order and sent a mail to confirm something about shipping but haven't heard back from a human being the whole day.

Guess that's 364 days...

Seriously? When you ordered, the system would tell you what expected delivery date was. I'm pretty sure it didn't state same day delivery...

Either this is stupidity of the highest order, or a very low-brow attempt to detract from how awesome Takealot have been compared to some other major e-tailers over the December month....

Reading the OP, I didn't get that he wanted same day delivery.
I understood that he placed an order for something he required urgently.
He then sent a separate email to them regarding the delivery of the item and was hoping to get a reply.
He then queried if they were open on Christmas day.
Granted, I may have misunderstood.

They online so the shopping is 24/7 365 - of course the guys putting your order together and Mr delivery probably don't operate on weekends and public holidays.

When you ordered what was the expected deliver date?

I have to say my experiences from Takealot has exceeded expectations especially with regards to delivery.

Nope, it is 365 days.
The website stays up so you can shop 24/7, 365.
On their website, the call centre operates during office hours and half days over weekends but not during public holidays.
I assume their back office will have similar times.
 
Given the different shipping options, the earliest delivery date was today which is weird because today is a public holiday too. That's why I emailed them to get them to deliver at home if delivery would be today or weekend and at the office if it was to be on an open weekday.

Mr Delivery normally calls to arrange delivery, so you can pretty much tell them where you will be
 
Ok I just looked at the payment confirmation and it says it should be delivered today. I seriously hope Mr Delivery doesn't attempt to deliver at the office given that it's a closed day. Do they ALWAYS call before making delivery?
 
Looks like they're working today, lets hope Mr Delivery is too.

PS. Someones teenage son is manning the phones at Takealot. :/

Nobody is complaining, initially I started the thread to find out if there anyone manning the phonelines/email support tickets.
