I want to try openserve as fibre provider because my intermittent zoom line is just not bearable anymore.
Can I just take an openserve fibre contract and connect to the internet?

Please advise since I am IT limited (actually more like retarded)

I mean I am running my mail and post my websites via KonsoleH (Xneelo). Do they count as an ISP then so I can just use OPENSERVE end off?

Telkom is an ISP while Openserve is not they are basically like Zoom fibre the line provider.

If you have Openserve coverage go here https://openserve.co.za/ fill in your details and let them install. You get 30 days 50Mbps free as a trial to test their fibre. The ISP for the 30 days is Telkom.

After the 30 days free trial you can pick any ISP of your choice to use with your Openserve line.

Read up a bit on here which ISP's are good. I wouldn't recommend Telkom as an ISP, there are quite a few complaints about them. I also don't recommend taking up side gig services with businesses. Rather stick to a ISP that is primarily an ISP not something else with ISP as an add on.

Thanks a lot. But why do I need an ISP if I can surf the internet?

Just thought I would report back:

With much struggle they eventually installed my line and connection
Now I am on Pay as you Go monthly
I pay R500 and gets 25k up and down unlimited for a month and it works like a dream.
If it stops working or if I go on holiday I just stop paying

Thanks a lot for your help

The prepaid on the Openserve app is nice as a prepaid option but it does work out a bit more per month than a monthly web connect subscription.

Also the prepaid and web connect is tied to TelkomSA network. Always natted and ipv4 only. Not easy to change wifi detils you need to do that in the app so it's a very basic service but works.
