Is Telkom non-DHCP, Dynamic IP, PPPoE?

Hey guys,

My dad's company needs confirmation that our SA ISP is non-DHCP (& PPPoE) and that it assigns dynamic IP's.

Can anyone confirm that this is true? Is my router configuration "Connection Details" sufficient to prove this--or do I need to phone Telkom?

We have a Telkom Internet account.

Is there a page on the Telkom website which confirms this? I can't find anything. Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms.

Actually, there is one thing:

I was asked on setup of my dad's company router if the PPPoE connection uses CHAP or PAP.

Do you know which one it is?

To answer the original question, Telkom does provide dynamic addresses but does not use DHCP (which would imply IPoE etc). The IP address is supplied using IPCP over the PPPoE protocol in the Access-Accept packet. Telkom will possibly/probably evolve to use DHCP/IPoE someday...

Might be wrong but I think it is CHAP (standard PPPoE)
