Is the PS4 worth buying?

Please tell me again how the previous gen's 256/512mb RAM was more than enough for the whole lifetime of the console, that it managed to stay on par with pc games?

Edit: And I never said pc's dont need upgrades, but upgrading just your RAM when you need more RAM sure beats having to wait half a decade (or more)for the next gen to come out so you can upgrade your whole system

Why would someone want to do that? What a ballache. Rather just buy a new playstation or something every couple of years

I actually agree with you on something :D

Absolutely hate having to open something up to constantly upgrade it. Much rather pop in a disc and play, on something that has been designed and guaranteed to work properly on a set configuration.

Just built my gaming rig, cost me 7k so for me it's a NO, I will enjoy GTAV in 1080p and 60fps :D

I've had mine since launch in December while keeping both my PS3 and Xbox 360.

Both of the previous generation consoles are glorified Netflix boxes now, so I can definitely say the PS4 purchase has been more than worth it.

Playstation games run smooth througout the entire lifetime of the console, no need to panick when new games come out because they are guaranteed to run like butter. As for the PC, you gotta keep an eye on that Ram and gfx card constantly upgrading and wasting money which I'd rather use on more games

Why would you wanna buy the same hardware every couple of years:wtf: I'd rather upgrade a pc thanks.

Unless you mean buying a next gen console every couple of years, in which case you're in for a surprise if you think the ps5 will be here in a "couple of years"

Are you seriously saying that the hardware is the same in the PS3->PS4, and 360->X1?

Just...

/facepalm

Oh yes forgot you can't upgrade a pc, you need cash for those R799 PS4 titles:p

Nope not at all what I'm saying, read again, he said he'll just buy another ps in a couple of years....well if he has a ps4 currently, and he buys another ps4 a couple of years down the line, he'd still have the same hardware, where as if he bought a 7k pc now, and spend some more money a "couple of years" down the line, he'd have better hardware than the ps4... Oh god you're thick

That's not what he said. It's obvious he meant the next generation...

And just to add one more thing, I'm not a PC fanboy, I used to game on consoles my whole life, I'm just pissed off at how expensive it became to game on consoles, so I'm lashing out here:D

because the ps4 has the latest radeon right???? sad to say, but here's a card that already outperforms the ps4's gpu capabilities for only 2.3k http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolo...it-pci-express-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

No im not talking about the ps4 having the latest radeon. I'm talking about pc gamers having to keep up with the latest gfx cards to play the latest games. Whereas on a console a game which comes out a couple years down the line will still run smooth. Example ps3 games still play lekker many years later on the same hardware. Console optimisation eliminates the constant need for upgrades

And 9k for the latest radeon

either some people are trolling here or just do not understand pc mechanics .

if you going 9k on a gfx card - then gtfo you are drunk :D:p

you can get the best possible play experience for a good couple of years on a 2k card.

pc enthusiast go for 9k cards or you know, maybe someone recently hijacked someones credit card pin .... or fake boasting.

you do not need xfire or SLI anymore to get best play experience either. its pure hobby stuff or if you got cash to waste

*its still better than buying a replacement console if your ps3 or ps4 breaks thats why i sold my ps3 before warranty ended, if your pc hardware fails, you can fix it yourself same day and be up and running in no time, whereby if your console breaks you are so screwed with no game time waiting for partserve or wherever backyard fixer is working on your rig.

IF i had the money, i would love to buy the ps4 and its games etc but pc is cheaper and so are those steam sales ....
