Is there any method to allow adding TIDAL to Alexa as a music source?

It seems adding TIDAL to Alexa as a music source is region locked, it can only be done in the USA?
I'm assuming there must be ways around that, methods were previously used to get Spotify linked before it was officially unlocked in SA.

My Amazon acc has an SA address and cc.

Not sure about Tidal, but for Apple the Apple account needs to be American, not the Amazon one. Apple has region locked the integration to regions that officially support Alexa

Why would they do that?
And why would Tidal only be allowed on Alexa in the US despite them officially being in SA and many other locations.

Your guess is as good as mine, Apple Music is officially in SA too, does not mean I can use it with Alexa.

YouTube music is officially available in SA, not on Google Home speakers though. Same goes for Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and all the rest. Google home speakers cannot play music in South Africa.

One could do that before but they changed all the rules when they took over Nest and began rebranding, so you can only use a previously supported service if you connected it before the change, no music services are connectable via the Home app any longer. It will still play my Spotify as Spotify is installed on my Google home, but I have to say “Play Spotify”, I cannot say “Play Music”.

How’s you pull that off, if I select YouTube music it automatically plays on my chrome cast. Contacted Google support they point blank told me it won’t work as YTM has only been enabled for speakers in officially supported countries.

Not particularly interested in going through the schlep of moving my Google account to a supported country and that for a meh music service.

I did nothing. It has worked from day one. I do have a youtube premium account. The only thing that does not work is continued conversation.

Interesting, I was on premium for a while and as soon as GPM was announced to be leaving I tried and never worked, tried a few times even after they finally killed GPM and nada. Pretty much when I dropped premium, 90% of my music listening is via my speakers , pretty pointless paying for something that does not work.

I play most of my music via a google audio chromecast. Unfortunately it has been discontinued.
