And to answer the question, it doesn't sound particularly special

I think It's a good deal. Friend of mine buying a 2006 1.4 Velociti for R67 000 with 46000 km on the clock this week.

Use autotrader to get an idea of what the "market value" is.

Just remembered another friend of mine bought a 2008 1.6 CitiRox with 18 000km on the clock, for R95 000.

So yah...your deal looks good to me

Do you really want to buy a citi golf? I heard the Tenaciti's are going for R75k brand new(maybe its just a special) but that's the base model. You could also look at the citistorm which on the VW site is R87 500, it's a bit more but you're getting a brand new car. I don't think there's a big difference between the citistorm and sport.. just a lowered suspension and standard front loading MP3 player.

I actually want a polo for +- R99000.00 but cant find anything from at least 2008 with reasonable KM's on the clock.

Are you in Cape Town?
I know of a dealership here that has a 2008 VW Polo 1.4i Trendline for R100 000. 38 000 KM on the clock
