I dont know much about car prices , but that seems like a pretty high price :P

Thats what i also thought but after surfing I found that the same year with higher mileage for the same price or marginally lower.Saw one yesterday with 70 000km and was going for R210 000.Obviously resale value is great !

Drop him to R195 and make sure its a BWA, check the engine code on the licence disc.

Shop around. There's one on Carfind with 51 000km on the clock,2008,for R4k more.

I own a 2006 model bought new and now at 149,000kms! I love the car and will probably never sell it! Never missed a beat - HONESTLY! Highest ever service: R6.5k. Mine's manual... Heard some horrible stories about DSG problems... Ok, not that many stories. I believe they are an absolute pleasure though, DSG that is...!

Shot !!I drive a 2005 Jetta 1.8T R and when i test drove the GTI ,was blown away not only with the performance but more for the build.Really great interior than previous models.I want one !!!!

remember to do a full AA car test, before deciding to buy...

You have nothing to loose.

R215K seems rather high for a 4 year old GTI considering that most vehicle lose about 50% of their value within the first 3 years.
The vehicle only has 1 year and and 18000km left before the motorplan and warranty run out.
42000km is plenty of time to abuse a vehicle - check it thoroughly and pray that the turbo, gearbox, etc. don't break 1 year down the line.

Good deal, awesome car, go for it.

Think that all GTIs that came out post 2006 August are BWA.
