Is this a good router?

Never heard of it before. If you do get it, let us know how it pans out.

Had an IP-TIME 5 port switch once upon a time. Every week or so it would freeze and need to be reset :(

Never heard of them.

I suggest D-Link, excellent local support. They have a 4 port wireless router for about R650.

I have used the IP-Time Network Switches. What complete rubbish!

Bought 2 of them and returned them both because of poor manufacturing quality...... The RJ45 sockets were so loose that the network cables would not seat securely and thus network connections would keep getting lost.

Definitely cheap and nasty. Avoid these products like the plague.

Want an 802.11b/g wireless router? Linksys WRT54GL with OpenWRT/dd-wrt firmware is king

Cisco/Linksys, Billion & Netgear are the decent brand name routers. D-Link is OK too.

That router seems to be OK feature wise. It all depends on what you want to use it for.

Like if you want to connect a couple of PC's for filesharing purposes that would require lots of bandwidth, I would rather consider a wireless N-router, which has a theoretical max of 300Mbps and not 54Mbps like that router.
To utilize the Wireless N-router properly you also need wireless adapters/devices that supports 802.11n

If you simply want to extend your network, then a plain wireless router with WPA2 encryption/MAC filtering should suffice - which are amongst that router's features.

thaks guys I ended up with the Netgear DG834GUv5 Wireless Router with Built in DSL Modem. Running nicely.
