is it just me or is this a major scam? A school in Bloemfontein is 'encouraging' their students to purchase a chromebook but not just any chromebook - one ONLY from their store. See attached for the brochure from the school.
My questions:

1) I think chromebooks are a great idea but it means wifi access needed for most things. Anyone with experience?

2) Why not buy a cheaper model?

3) I doubt (but may be pleasantly wrong) that the school is going fully online with their teaching. My child's school in Cape Town (Westerford) encouraged children to purchase a notebook and we did. But not used. Instead phones are more popular and definitely a computer at home is super useful. Anyone with other experience?

in my opinion it's a legit site with a legit offering.

They're attempting to sell you Chromebooks (which you can b.t.w. buy from anywhere/anyone else)
