Hi All

Today I received a call on my cellphone and this guy claims to be from Nedbank (He gives me his name of Sean Jacobs and his employee number0.

He claims a large transaction was being attempted on my credit card and wanted to know if I wanted to suspend the card and to get a new one. He claims the people can override the Verify app so that why I didnt see it on my phone. I didnt give this guy any information and said I would go personally to a Nedbank branch.

I phoned Nedbank call centre and they couldt see any transactions on their system at all even in their pending transaction or waiting for approval.

Has anyone else experience this before

Thanks

Attempted to be debited or credited ?

Anycase, obvious a scam.

Classic phone scam.
Really helpful call from your Bank.
Try to convince you to give them remote access to your computer while they get you to login and authenticate. They smooth talk you and do the transfer in front of. you. This happened 1 year ago to a pensioner and he got scammed of R50K.

report the scam.
staff numbers begin with either NB or CC.

Yes I did report to Nedbank
