Is this a Telkom problem?

Good morning.
I am still battling with the guys from Telkom with an intermittent on/off with connection. The line drops; router's ADSL connection lid turns amber and after a couple of seconds connects again. Even though it should connect at 4096, it connects at a changing value of anything like 3012 downstream. Internet is the VERY slow with NO VPN connection possible.

I attach a picture of screenshots I took:

These are screenshots I took on Sunday. The Telkom guys said there were going to change something at the d-slam (or something like this). The phone line was dead for a while yesterday and we were pumping after this. BUT, 1 hour later, same problem.
When this started to happen, we changed from Cybersmart to Axxess and changed routers from Netgear DG834G v3 to DG834G v4. Still same problem. My suspition is that the problem is with the line from the Telkom mast to our office.

Mostly this happens every evening from ± 19:00 right through ±03:00 and intermittently during daytime.

According to what you see, please suggest what you think.

Regards,
Deon

The speed of the connection is regulated by Telkom’s exchange. Since you have an intermittent connection and the speed is fluctuating you will need to report a line fault with Telkom.

I been having a similar problem since this afternoon!

The line is totally dead, the phone doesn't even have a tone!

Gave Telkom a call! I will only find out what the problem is tomorrow.

Will you please keep me posted to what solved your problem?

having mayor problems on connecting today on adsl the line is bloody unstable , a lot of people in this area ( south of jhb ) are also having problems , any news ?

you guys have to drop your adsl sync rate (phone 080037575 or your isp if line registered with them).

distance problems , damaged lines and wet lines are not going to help.

drop the profile to 2megabit.

Scanning the forums it seems there is a general drop in the performance of ADSL lines recently...must be because of the recent request by Mr. September to save money so they can make there targets. Give up quality for money...
