I've got a 1988 VW Fox, 1800 I think, and the guys at work make jokes like how fast can it go if you push it after an energy drink, and so on. Then I meet a guy who says it's worth 50 grand as is. So I dismiss this as pure bulldust. Then later another guy tells me he will give me R25000 for it. I paid R7000 for it. So is this car valuable or not? Condition is fair but not wonderful. Needs a new engine, wiring revamp. But takes me to work everyday...:D

A car is as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.

Some Land Rover Defenders are now being bought for over R1 mil since they stopped making them.

Don't see many Foxes around, so there is a rarety to them.

any drivable car can sell for ~R30k. R50k is a bit of a stretch. The amount doesn't make it a scam.

Well, it is not a Delta Motor Corporation Opel Monza GSi COTY, so...
