Hi all, on my Hi Fi the volume knob works funny,

Doesn't happen often but sometimes when I try turn it down it does the opposite,

Really annoying and scary as trying to turn the volume down just raises it till Max and no other way to make it come down but by the remote.

My question, is it practical/easy/simple to fix this?

Your HiFi has become self aware. I'd keep an eye on the TV if I was you.

Its a old hi-fi and not sure where to start looking for firmware made by Aiwa

Model NSX S333 , does aiwa even still exist?

While on the subject of Firmware, where can you get firmware for car audio? In particular LG car radios, no Google results even though
its shown as possible to do.

Is there some secret Firmware website I don't know about?

Why dafuq would you want to upgrade your car radio's firmware?

I have a Aiwa NSX V50, nothing works on it an more, except AUX. Use it as my PC sound output. Bought it for R3600 back in 1995.
If problem is firmware, then you might as well toss it in the trash. But, 10 to 1, the knob is worn. A HiFi back yard mechanic will be your best bet.

Heard its the brushes that wear out on it, anybody fix anything like this before?

My tv friend ,Italian fixed everything.

Both above cases should be easy for him.

Service agents get onto sites, and there is all the info that you will want, firmware, wiring.. But you must be a service agent.

Mine does the same Aiwa NSX-S909. I just use the remote. Thing is about 20 years old.

Does yours play cd-r's?

I swear mine is so picky on what it will and wont play, I need to take the disc out for a movie and a restaurant before it will even think of playing:p
