Yes, but I have B&W perspec plates and have been through a few road blocks... never been fined for it. They don't even bring it up. The majority of our traffic police are not well educated on the law.

Same with Cape Town drivers. You can see them muttering to themselves when an EC driver arrives and makes a mistake but they don't go into a rage the way they do with other Cape Town drivers

Around the late 1990's a friend put a smiley face sticker over the Gauteng coat of arms on the back plate of my car. I drove for a few months with it before a popo with no sense of humour removed it for me. He stated it was illegal, I said my registration is correct so whats the issue. He said it's in the code book. Code book??
