After the exit by the Proteas (which consists of 11 players - just to help some along ;) ) from the 20/20 tournament, is that the end for Gibbs.

I remember him playing for Western Province as a 16 year old against Clive Rice's Transvaal team. He has come along way since then but I feel didnt perform to his ability people claim he had. Which was a pity

It should be it for Gibbs, Smith, Duminy and Morne Morkel. Poor performances from Smith and Gibbs makes Kallis to take the blame for not scoring quick enough.

Botha should be handed captaincy. You can't have a captain that's hardly there for the team. And when he is there, he doesn't make an impact.

Saturday night was not the first time that Morne Morkel got a wicket of a no ball.

One has to wonder whether his debaucherous lifestyle has affected his concentration... his fielding is still amazing though. He still has something to offer but he is really lacking confidence and form at present.. much like the rest of our star-studded team.

Yea we need to shuffle things around now, we were beaten savagely by England and Pakistan.

Smith and Gibbs should both be dropped - maybe that will give them an incentive to get back in form and actually start making runs for their team.

I think the selectors need to be fired!!!!

its got nothing to do with the players, they just try there hardest.

Gibbs needs to go along with Smith and, as much as it pains me to say it, Boucher. A keeper can't leave a ball like he did for Pieterson. Morkel is good but needs to work on his no ball problem.

Captain is Botha, at least for 20/20 and 50 over format. Then pick the team from there.

I would also put him in for tests but I think there are lots who would disagree there.

Yeah, Boucher needs to go. Looks like half the team should be out. SA is the breathing ground for world circketers(ask Collingwood)... surely there are guys from the domestic league that can bat better.

M.Morkel was one of our highest wicket takers in the tournament. Yes he has a problem with no balls but to be fair if boucher and kallis didn't mess up the chance of kp its a different game and morne would get credit for that wicket. For me his 20/20 bowling was much improved in this tournament, he needs to cut out the no balls but else than that I was happy with him.

For me boucher, smith, gibbs and duminy need to go from the 20/20 side. I like bouch but a career t20 strikerate of 98 is simply not good enough. Gibbs is done. Smith is either woefully out of form or can't be the imposing striker he used to be.

Time to give guys like rossouw, miller, ingram and kuhn a run in this format.

Botha has to be able to make the test side on merit first. When he does his job in the super sport series he can get in the side but at the moment(for the past 3 seasons) harris has outbowled him by a big margin.

I am for botha as captain of the 20/20 side. Still giving smith the benifit of the doudt, the odi series vs the west indies will be telling.

Botha as captain, Smith has passed his due date.

Saying Smith must go is pretty extreme, I think he still has things to offer. Maybe the guy was just out of form, like so many were

I dont think so, i think hes just out of form. Relieve him of the captaincy in all forms and let him bat his way into form. He seems incapable of delivering under pressure at the moment. Hes got many years left and lets not write him off prematurely.

I see many people asking for Duminy to be dropped and I can understand why, However I have a different take on this. When he made his test debut last season against the Aussies, he had a tremendous season in all forms of the game. He played well in tests, ODI's, domestic and IPL. He played some tremendous strokes and shots in the shorter form of the game which I originally did not think he was capable of. This cannot be a fluke. Over the years SA has lost alot of good batsmen with potential because of their fickle attitide such as , Van Jaarsveld, Rudolph, Mckenzie, Diepenaar and the list goes on. It also almost happened to Amla but he was an exceptional talent who couldnt be ignored after they first dropped on his first Indian tour. I think Duminy should be given a chance. Remeber when Kallis first started?

Duminy has already had a number of chances, he should have been dropped ages ago !

Smith should also go, not only is he not playing well, but he is also a poor captain. Botha has been a better captain for some time.

Its almost been a year and a half since that Duminy innings, thats quite long. And you must remember Amla was dropped
