Is this it for Gibbs

Much is made of Botha's captaincy in one ODI series, yet Smith captained the test team to the best team of year in 2008 ( last year they played very little Tests), then despite what was made of Duminy's innings, the comebacks etc, Smith was the architect in the test series in 2008/09, especially the second Aus innings where they went under 250.

Show me which great decisions he made as captain to win the test series? He batted well and Duminy/Steyn batted brilliantly in the one test, but show me the great captaining decisions he made during the series. The team winning does not make him a great captain.

His record as captain in tests is something like: 36 wins, 17 draws and 25 losses. 15 of those wins coming against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and West Indies who we all know aren't exactly playing great cricket at the moment. If you take those 3 countries out of the equation, we are looking at 21 wins, 14 draws and 24 losses against reasonable opposition.

Not exactly a great record if you ask me. He is arrogant, which probably helped against the aussies, but thats all.

Show me one great captaining decision and I will show you 3 bad ones.
