Yes, could have got it for a bit less as its 2nd hand imo but its still good value.
It only has one processor which has 2 cores.

I wouldn't get it. I'm sure you can find a better deal if you look around.

I agree with carderne. If you do take it , make sure you get the dude to ship u the xp cd's (i.e. make sure he isn't running a fong kong OS, or isn't keeping the original OS for himself). Also find out about the warranty as the machine is only 2 months old :O

Considering that for R500 more you can buy a HP 530 with better build quality, the price needs to shed another R500.

I'd rather go for the HP 530 with extra R500 - it'll come with a warranty and original installation CD's...

A dual-core CPU is a physical CPU running two cores, not two CPU's... ;)

My Dad has the TravelMate 4200 WLMI... it's more than a year old. The headphone output jack stopped working shortly after he bought it... and the power button fell inside the machine about 9 months later. They are not very well built. Also not super-powered, but after upgrading to a 120 Gb drive and 2 GB of RAM it runs OK now.

I would agree with the other guys though... keep looking... you can do better.

You can get a brand new Acer aspire for 4999 at incredible con 1.8ghz,1024mb RAM, 80GB HDD, DVDRW dual layer drive, integrated 802.11b/g W/LAN, 14.1 crystalbrite display. Vista but I'd have XP SP 2 loaded.

My Acer one day decided I needed to insert a smartcard.

Pity The acer did not come with a slot for one, So I made one and stuck a pineapple up its "smartcard" reader

Been using HP since, no issues
