Is this MWEB shaping?

A month or 2 ago I decided to "upgrade" from their 2mbps premium uncapped to the 4mbps normal uncapped package.

In the beginning the speed was amazing! I could stream youtube and twitch in HD and downloads (non torrents) were lightning fast.

The throttle threshold is 110GB for this package but I've stayed comfortably under it at 100GB pm and never been told "throttled" on their client portal.

Now for the past few weeks (Despite the issues I'm having with Telkom atm) my speed has been consistently testing fine. 3967392796.png

BUT I cannot stream in HD anymore, I even get stutters in streaming on twitch in low quality. YouTube 480p only. So is this MWEB's shaping policy? Give me all the streaming pleasure in the beginning and then slowly slow it down?
 
I am with Vox after being with Openshape and the Afrishape.

I can now stream YouTube 24/7 and I previously thought my line wasn't fast enough (2MB) lol.

THIS

Either switch to Afrihost or Web Africa BUSINESS uncapped or get 110GB vox fatpipe data

I'm on Afrihost business 4096 and the speeds are great

Hi ChocolateBadger, tell me is it only with streaming on those sites that are giving you this trouble ?
 
I've experienced this as well.
Downloads, browsing, heck even torrents are running at nice speeds but any video streaming is just beyond unusuable.. constant bufferring and stuttering.

I isolated my entire home network to only my computer, removed all running downloads and tested and the problem still persists.
Reinstalled the plugins/browser and tried a different browser to no avail.

For interest's sake, are you on Fat pipe or uncapped?

Hi MWEB Guy.

Yes the problem is just streaming. When I first upgraded to 4mbps uncapped the streaming was great with me being able to stream at High quality on twitch and In 720 to 1080p in YouTube.

As of the beginning of this month, I'm finding that this is not possible anymore.

That is strange as nothing has changed on our end as far as prioritisation is concerned.

Is it possible to provide me with trace routes
