Hello everyone,

I did a speedtest Today, because I felt my 384kbps ADSL Line was feeling slow. This is what I got:

Is this normal for a 384kbps ADSL Line with TelkomInternet?

thank you.

No. That's poor.

DL should be around 34-38
Not quite. 0.32 max. Thats megabits per sec, which is what the speednet display uses. Kilobytes per sec is 40.5 max on a 384k.

40kB after overheads * 8 /1024 = 0.32. Calc aside, I also know this from many years of suffering on a 384k.

You're quite right though that its poor. A 384k should be maxing pretty much 24/7 on any half decent product.

Same Line from here.

Here is the Same Line test from here.

Lines died last night and looks like 4 nights in a row.

mmmm. Not good.

The worst part of 384k is the 128k upload. In some games I can't speak on TS and play at the same time. Ping spikes to 200+.

I know, games are totally unplayable now, and with half the speed im getting, when I play Need For Speed The Run, the cars jump around like crazy.

I'm hoping that 1mbps upgrade comes on october 2012 as promised.

Here is a speedtest to International I did today:

Test conducted on Thursday, September 13, 2012 4:05:25 PM

Download Speed: 127 kbps (15.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 97 kbps (12.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 419 ms

I've been reading around this forum, and apparently line stats can tell part of the story. Here are my line stats:

Code:
Connection Speed [B]384 kbps[/B] 128 kbps
Line Attenuation [B]30.0 db[/B] 18.0 db
Noise Margin [B]29.8 db[/B] 20.0 db

The ones in Bold are downstream.
