Hi guys i was wondering if i get a 4mb line will i b able to get full line speed this is the info i get from my router

Line mode: ADSL2+
Maximum line rate: 23224 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 30.6 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 18.5 dB (upstream)
Output power: 6545.5 dBm (upstream)

Is that max line rate possible??

Thnx

Im pretty sure 23224 kbps = 23,224 mbps which is way faster than what telkom will have for the foreseeable future.
Im no expert but this is more than adequate for telkoms 4mbit line.

ADSL2+ (which isn't available in our country right now) can sustain much higher rates than 4MB, so yes your modem will give you 4MB :)

Here's an interesting email I got from an Australian client today:

Rudi,

Fortunately one of the benefits of living in Australia is that I get 120 GB per month on ADSL 2+ (up to 20 Gbits/s) for the equivalent of R500 J

Thnx Now i can order my 4mb line hope it'll get bumped up to 12mb soon :)

Yip. Your exchange supports ADSL2+ reliably (according to the router stats), so you can order that 4Mb line :)

u will not regret getting 4 meg! anything slower is unbearable,

even 4 meg is becoming too slow for me nowdays! anyone else agree?
