As I have seen its an absolute nightmare trying to get a new contract with Cell C, in this day and age of internet and electronic copies of items such as bank statements and payslips it seems that they dont like them. Everything has to be stamped..... But enough of that can the following scenario work?

I am going to get a contract once I have all the ridiculous paper work sorted ( its easier buying a house I tell you ), can I take out 2 contracts as my wife is soon to cancel her contract with Vodacom.

Yes we will pay for a few months but after that can she migrate her cell number from a Vodacom sim ( it will be converted to pre-paid ) to an existing cell c sim on contract?

Just seems stupid to go through this mess twice....?

Well you should try 084145. They have really been awesome to me. Provided me with my upgrade and back then when I applied for new contracts. No paperwork if you do it via them. I think the stores needs tons of paperwork but 084145 just reads it to you and asks if you accept. The only thing is delivery takes between 2 - 7 days depending on how many orders cellc direct gets.

Yes you can do that. Its called a number change on cellc and is usually charged R250 for BUT cellc rep here does it for free. I have asked for a number change on facebook support too and wow they are just as good. Thapelo phoned me and said he will do it for me free of charge don't worry. 15min later it was done. The store or calling 140 will charge you the R250.

You need to port from vodacom prepaid to cellc prepaid. Then just ask for the number to be change to the contract. Easy and the sim stays the same. They just change the phone number. :)

There is a reason that they request stamped bank statements and payslips- to prevent fraud. Internet banking statements can be easily duplicated and fraudulently created, same goes with payslips.

Rather this slight inconvenience, than a fraudster opening a line with your details and running up a massive phone bill on it.

Why are you even signing a contract in the first place? Pay As You Go has never been cheaper. Pay for your phone with cash and don't sign your life away to these con artists.
