Hi there, i would like to know if it is at all possible for an installation to work like this....

There is a huge multiswitch in the complex. Now, the multiswitch does not have enough output ports for all the required decoders.

Is it possible to put a T-Split on one of the output cables and connect it to two different decoders with the signal running through the T-Split then?

Thanks

No.

Now, off topic. You are the same Gerrit as before right. From a few years ago... Are you still trying to be an installer?

Now, just for fun... Switch the first decoder onto SABC1 and the second decoder onto BBC Entertainment. Do you have pictures on both TV's?

So would i need to install another smaller multiswitch to the big main multiswitch then?

Why not just go for the installers courses and register yourself as an installer and all that, instead of relying on this forum to provide answers for the problems that you get when pretending to be an installer?

Well i did not try what you mentioned above so i just want to know if i can connect another multiswitch to the current one then?

Of course you can...

You can daisy chain them out to whatever level you want.

Well i did it that way and at home i had my doubts about it and that i why i wanted to ask and make sure about it.

And plus the person was in a hurry and i had to think of something on how this "could" hopefully be sorted out quickly.

Since i do not work in complexes this is not something i am familiar with.

Remember that because you know more than someone else about something does not give you the right to treat that person with disrespect.

You might need help from someone else with something different and which you do not know a lot about and then you would like the person to be respectful towards you.

Just remember that.

We remember that,

We also remember your other username, where you basically posted a thread for every random little job you got, and you were told back THEN to go and get proper training if you were going to try and do DSTV installs for a living.

Like i mentioned this was a complex which was an exception to the other installations I normally do at houses.

Anyway thanks for your time and your help. Some people find it easier to be nasty than to be helpful such a pity.

So you are saying you still haven't gone for training?

If you had you would have recommended the correct installation for the complex rather than trying to hack together some solution which will fall apart sooner rather than later.

Bottom line. You shouldn't be charging people money for you expertise, if they probably have the same level of knowledge as you do. You say you just don't know about complexes, but if you don't know the reason why you cannot split that cable, you don't know enough to do the basics.
