I have Wimax, the new town I'm moving to has Wimax coverage but I'm not allowed to move the equipment at all and have to apply for new equipment. Telkom has suspended all Wimax installations.

The new house has an existing line which I can convert to a normal phone (it's prepaid). But this would mean I have to pay rental of the line + the ADSL fees + my bandwidth which would then make the R439 incl vat I spend a month balloon into R649.20 just for the same 512kb

Would it be worth it?!

depends what you want to do with the internet, if gaming is your flavour then adsl is the way to go, perhaps look at the 384 line if cost is an issue.
