Is Twinking dead?

So I leveled a mage upto 29 - got some nice gear & enchants. Still need to fill a couple of slots grinding AB marks. In my battlegroup (EU dragonblight server) Alliance only wins about 1 in 10 battlegrounds in Arathi.

So Sunday I go to the guy in SW to switch off XP gains and que up. So I understand that if you use that option you are only grouped with other people that has XP Gains turned off. I que for 30min on WSG and AB without a game. I does'nt even give me est. time.

So is twinking dead or did I just pick a lousy time to try. Was about 5pm sunday afternoon.
 
I believe it is dead. When I was browsing the official forums a few weeks back, I saw a lot of complaints about the twink bracket being completely dead. Maybe try posting on your Battlegroup's forums?

The way I see it is that there really is no point in Twinking anymore.

Pretty much. What's the point, now? If you lock-xp you get dumped in your own bracket with wait times in the hours (i believe). And, basically, everyone's a twink these days, seeing someone without heirloom stuff is pretty rare.
 
When I was farming Argent Dawn rep is Stratholme about a month ago, I made a fair amount of gold selling crusader enchants on the AH. Not sure who else but a twink would buy it. Seen some twink guilds spamming in chat, and if the quality of that is anything to go by, yes, its dead. :D
 
Levelers. The best enchant you can put on an heirloom weapon is Crusader. Anything higher gets hit with the 'item level must be 35 or higher' issue. Since heirlooms are locked at ilvl1, this is not possible.
 
This is sad to hear. It was one of the aspects of the game I used to enjoy the most. Especially the 20-29 Bracket. Before BG XP I used to spend a lot of time lvl 28/29 doing WSG & AB before leveling my charcter further.

Wow. Didnt think anyone would enchant an heirloom. Makes it BoP doesnt it ?
 
Not to mention that is no fun for Twinks to enter a BG where they are not totaly OP anymore ;)
For me it is way more fun just trying to level up a toon from level 11 to 69 by just doing PVP :D
 
Enchanting a heirloom just helps you out a bit but those enchants are very expensive.
 
A lot more than just twinking has died in the last couple of months. Sigh.
 
I really had a laugh about this whole twinking thing. When the community raged at just how terrible the twinks were in ordinary battlegrounds, they defended themselves by saying they were there to fight other twinks. They came out by the hundreds to spout this tripe about wanting a fair fight with people, but when Blizzard finally gave them and the community what they wanted, it took about 3 months for twinks to vanish completely. Admit it, twinks are nothing but sycophantic sociopaths that took pleasure in killing under geared players in the low level brackets.

I approve of this comment

A way perhaps to make queues shorter for the twinks is to merge the battlegroup queues for all the non-xps,as the percentage of the userbase doing this is limited to probably less than 5% of a battlegroup
