Is it a public holiday I don't know about? I signed up for a webafrica 1GB shaped account this morning, made the payment via EFT just after 12, I had some problems on the registration page, after filling out all information and clicking submit, the page wouldn't load, it just "progressed". Luckily I received all the information and links in my email. I made the payment and sent through the payment confirmation email to the billing adress, didn't receive a reply.

I sent a message to the support email adress, asking a few questions, didn't receive a reply. Decided about an hour ago to open a support ticket in the client service area, still no reply. How long does it take from payment to activate the account?

So the question is this? I am able to log on to the client service area, does this mean registration was successful? Can they see I have an active registration? Because the page didn't load completely do I have register again?

Any help would be appreciated.

In the client service area, click on "Manage" and the dslConsole should open. Click on the ADSL tab on the left (I'm using prepaid, so mine says "Prepaid ADSL") and look at the status of your account. I had to wait about 15min before the purchase was approved

Sorry, typo, I'm using prepaid aswell, well that's what I signed up for :) I just see service status queued, and at the main client service area it says pending service requests, I don't have a username and password to access the dsl console :(

Got it sorted out, spoke with one of the support guys on msn :) They say you have to phone for the account to be activated. but they did it for me online, so that's good. :D

Hi teraside,

Apologies for the delay - we running a bit of a backlog on this side -nonautomated stuff (eg tickets, manual authorisations). Basically Credit Cards are automated and EFT's need approval (I;m sure you can see why ;)

Glad to see you got it sorted though.

Oh an aside note, we are constantly on the lookout always for talented proactive motivated people to work at WA.

To give you an idea, call volumes and new orders etc have doubled in 2 months while the call center growing at about 20% for the same period. Our hiring drive just stepped up a notch.

Did you perhaps fax/email us proof of payment as it won't always be picked up automatically from the statement? If give us a call or PM your client code and I'll will take care of it.

I recommend using a debit order to pay. Its the easiest and your gigs get allocated almost immediately, also, when i opened up my prepaid account it was active within 15 minutes.

Debit order. ;) Just dont go wild and buy like 30 gigs... it's ouchy having to fork out that amount of cash at the end of the month :D

AcidRaZor,

your signature states:

3gb @ R199 and an infinite period of "bandwidth rollover" Web Africa is my choice!

but.. if you have a 3GB account for R199, none of it rolls over? isn't it only pre-paid 1GB that rolls over?

yeah the prepaid for 3gb is R225, and that rolls over. The normal 3gb is 199 but doesnt rollover. I'd rather just pay the R26 more instead of trying to finish 3gbs int. in a month coz most of my downloads are local with my openweb account.
