Is your brain really necessary?

@ Oopsie. I must say that you live in a completely different universe to the one I'm in. It is a wonder we can even communicate, though our signals are probably extremely faded from one another :)

Well, let me guess. At school you were one of those kids that said..." Why study math and science? I will never use it". Many parents echoed it as well.

Let me tell you why it is essential for all scholars to learn math and science. I am not saying they should major in these if they intend to become lawyers or hair stylists.
These subjects rewire your brain to analyse and solve problems in life in general. It makes you think deeper and logically. This is the difference between you and I.

I have spent more years than you have been alive teaching these subjects to students.

Dunning and Kruger are doing well, it seems.

:crylaugh:

"If you're incompetent, you can't know you’re incompetent. If you are then you will know it". The D and K effect has been proven to be faulty.
If you are incompetent then you will know you are. If you are competent then you will know you are. Simple as that.

No, please... stop. :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

Proven faulty, nogal? By whom? People who mistake millimetres for centimetres? People who think ghosts are made of cheese cloth? Whose nonsense are you quoting above? Theirs?

Seek help. :erm:

Single cell organisms have heterosexuality and can eat, find sexual partners and all this without brains.
Do you think single-cell organisms have brains located in quantum fields that explains their behavior?

Not at all. Brains are made from matter and control bodily functions only. The receptors within the brain receive signals from the quantum field to give us thought, emotions and senses like touch, taste, memory etc. These signals also give our body's brains instructions much like a TV receiver.
This thinking has had an increasing following with scientists lately. It takes many years for Natural Earth Scientists and lay people to accept.

Looking at the current stage of our tertiary Education subjects I would have to say a brain is not required to sustain human life.

No, I'm talking about the nature in which you seem to dissect information and what you choose to believe. I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all, I'm merely pointing out that the conclusions you draw seem to be worlds apart from mine. As though when I read what you post I often feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Maybe you're right or there is some credibility in the sources you choose, who knows?

As is oft the case, for the benefit of the silent observer rather than the likely-beyond-help OP. :p Besides, how funky is that video?
That video is superb... totally fascinating. And for years we've always spoken of your 'gut feel'... so there you go.

We are at a time where we should adapt to the new science but not completely disregard the Newtonian materialistic science that some people regard as the only science and hang onto it.

History has shown that it takes time to accept changes in science and even great scientists have problems to change their paradigm.

Science scholars cannot question anything they are taught as there is no time to do so and after 5 odd years they begin to accept what they have been taught. They will not waver from that.

The same applies to posters here. They think that if they scoop a glass of sea water, they can shout...."I see no whales here. Here is my proof. In my hand. Whales do not exist". They do not research but think they can talk on it.
