Ok so i've setup ISA 2004 with service pack 1 on a Windows Server 2003 box. This machine is going to be used as a proxy wherby users will have to authenticate everytime they need access to the web.

So everything is working fine, i'm able to authenticate and access the web except for 1 small problem....for certain sites, i get a:

Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)

I only get this error for sites like google.com, yahoo.com, runonce.msn.com and even go.microsoft.com.

I've checked the logs and it seems as though im only getting a "Denied Connection" for the NetBios Name Service and NetBios Session protocols.

If there's anyone here who can help, it would be gladly appreciated :)

Don't you think i've tried that?? I've searched the whole of yesterday on google but no answer....thats why I decided to ask here...

Really? What were you searching for? I tried a simple google for ISA 2004 "502 Proxy Error". The second result points to an article on MS's support site ...

Another blisteringly helpfull person...

You like spoon feeding people? How did you find those links you provided? You searched for them, right? Why can't the OP?

Just lay off. Not everyone knows exactly how to look or where.

If you're not going to be helpfull rather dont post in threads that ask for help.

Simply put - I disagree. If someone has enough know-how to register here and post question (and, I might add, install backend software), then surely they have enough know-how to use a search engine ?!

As for not being helpful, I firmly believe in the "Teach a man to fish" adage. Consider:
A) you post a question on a forum. You wait who knows how long before someone responds (and the possible responses are limited to the comparatively tiny pool of people who are regitered on that forum.)
B) you use a search engine. You increase the pool of knowledge you're accessing vastly. You get an answer MUCH quicker.

Stop being such an idiot. Ever heard of wanting to speak/chat to someone with personal experiences? This is what a forum is for. Using a search engine will only give you limited results and most of the posts in the forums are outdated which is no help at all.

This forum is meant to help people by people with similar experiences so if you dont have anything useful to say, don't say anything at all.

Touché

Did it help in the end? I'm no Guru with ISA but have had limited experience.

Well it sort of resolved the problem for a little while but then there were some authentication issues. I've requested the hotfix from MS so i'll just have to wait for that and see what happens :)

Thanks
