ISDN to be phased out!

The diva is known to work with the software we use, something to do with the full CAPI 2 specifications. Have 2 mikrokom and 1 billion which claim they are capi 2 compliant but they dont support the feature this program uses

I'm not a telkom rep, but have put in ISDN at the office & at home for voice.

Call hunting can be enabled on multiple analog or digital (ISDN) lines. If you have both types they can't be in the same hunting group.

ISDN has the following benefits over analogue:
  • DDI (direct dialing inwards) on basic rate ISDN you get 20 incoming numbers to be assinged by your switchboard.
  • MSN (multiple subscriber numbers) allows mulitple ISDN equipment to have specific in/out bound numbers allocated
  • Call quality - louder & clearer calls
  • Fast call connection time - dialing is digital calls are connected almost instantly.

True no need for ISDN to have hunting....

Also with VOX you can use hunting. Although it is not set up by VOX. All that needs to be done is the same DID, username and password used over and over again in all the available channels on the device. When one line is busy it will use the next one for incoming & outgoing. Basically one SIP account is needed.

Also as far as I can remember Telkom were trialing SIP accounts with Local numbers. I don’t think they could quite figure it out.
